Section A

1. Collecting stamps must be great fun.

收集邮票一定很有趣。

collecting stamps集邮,这里是动名词短语作主语。

must后跟be动词也同样用动词原形be.

表示对现在所发生的事情的肯定推测,“一定,肯定”

如:他不在教室里,他肯定在操场上。

He isn’t in the classroom, he must be on the playground.

他没在卧室里,他一定在书房。

He isn’t in the bedroom, he must be in the study.

拓展:表示否定推测时,则用can’t,“不可能”。

如:他不在家,所以他不可能在家看电视。

He isn’t at home, so he can’t watch TV at home.

2. I used to listen to rock music.

我过去常常听摇滚音乐

(1)used to do sth. 表示过去经常做某事。

I used to play basketball in the morning.

我过去经常上午打篮球。

He used to sing at home.

他过去常常在家里唱歌。

(2)listen to music 听音乐

listen to 既可加名词也可加代词,代词必用宾格,因为to为介词,表示听……说/讲。

如:请认真听老师讲。

Please listen to the teacher carefully.

别听他讲。

Don’t listen to him.

3. Would you like to collect any of these things?

你愿意收集这些事物中的任何一些吗?

Would you like…?这是日常生活中有礼貌地、很客气地、语气又很委婉地征求对方意见的用语,意为“你愿意……吗?”这个问句的肯定回答形式常用“Yes, please.”否定回答形式常用“No, thanks.”

(1)would like sth. 想要某物

I’d like this book. 我想要这本书。

(2)would like to do sth. 想要做某事

I’d like to collect these stamps.

我想要收集这些邮票。

(3)would like sb. to do sth. 想要某人干某事

He’d like me to buy some flowers for him.

他想要我给他买些花。

(would常和前面的主语缩写成’d的形式,而且would没有人称和数的变化)

4. I am interested in playing sports.

我对做运动感兴趣。

play sports = have sports = do sports

be interested in sth. 对某事感兴趣(表示人对某事感兴趣)

in为介词,介词后加动名词,所以句中用了playing。

如:汤姆对打篮球感兴趣。

Tom is interested in playing basketball.

Interesting, interested, interest

(1)interesting 形容词,表示人或物自身是有趣的。

如:This story is very interesting. 这个故事很有趣。

He is an interesting teacher. 他是一名有趣的老师。

(2)interested 形容词,表示某人对某事感兴趣。

如:I’m interested in English. 我对英语感兴趣。

(3)interest 名词,兴趣、爱好。

如:I read this book with great interest.

我带着很大的兴趣读了这本书。

1. What do you often do in your spare time?

在你的业余时间你经常做什么?

in one’s spare time 在……的业余时间

如:in my spare time 在我的业余时间

in their spare time 在他们的业余时间

2. And I do a lot of reading. 并且我读了大量的书。

类似的有:

do some reading 看书

do some washing 洗衣服=wash(动)

do some shopping 购物=shop(动词)

do some cooking 做饭菜=cook(动)

3. Why not go out and do some outdoor activities?

为什么不出去做一些户外活动?

(1)outdoor activities 户外活动

(2)go out 外出,出去

go out for… 为…而出去

如:I want to go out for a walk.

我想要出去散步。

go out to do sth. 出去做某事

如:Let’s go out to play basketball.

让我们出去打篮球吧。

(3)Why not do…? = Why don’t you/we do…?

表示建议某人做某事,意思是为什么不做……?

如:Why not buy a sweater for your mother?

=Why don’t you buy a sweater for your mother?

为什么不给妈妈买一件毛衣呢?

Why not see a movie? = why don’t we see a movie?

为什么不去看电影?(you或we根据具体语境确定)

4. I wasn’t interested in sports at all.

我对运动根本不感兴趣。

not…at all 根本不…,一点也不,用来加强语气。

He doesn’t like basketball at all.

他根本不喜欢篮球。

They don’t study hard at all.

他们学习一点也不努力。

5. I never miss any important soccer games.

我从不错过任何重要的足球赛。

(1)never 副词,从不、永不、决不,其本身含有否定意思,如:

He’s never late for school. 他从不上学迟到。

表示频率的副词,按频率高低依次为:

always(总是),usually(通常),often(经常),sometimes(有时),seldom(几乎不),never(从不),这些副词往往放在be动词后,行为动词前,sometimes习惯在句首和句尾。

如:Li Lei always helps others.

李雷总是帮助别人。

I often go to school early.

我经常很早去上学。

(2)miss 错过

I got up late, so I missed the early bus.

我起床晚了,所以错过早班车。

6. Can you share my interests?

你能分享我的爱好吗?

share 分享

谁来分享我的爱好呢?

Who shares my interests?

7. Report the hobbies to your group.

向你的小组同学汇报你的爱好。

(1)hobbies为hobby的复数形式。

(2)report sth. to sb. 向某人汇报……

We must report the change in the plan to our boss.

我们必须向老板汇报这项计划的变更部分。

report还可以做名词,意为:报告,如the weather report 天气预报

一篇关于事故的警方报道

8. I’m fond of fishing. 我喜欢钓鱼。

be fond of 爱好……,喜欢……

of为介词,后加动词ing。

如:I’m fond of animals. 我喜欢动物。

We are fond of swimming. 我们喜欢游泳。
